Nanaimo Summer Skating Camp

This is a 4-session small group skating series designed to build efficient movement patterns that transfer directly to the game.
Each session is structured with progressive purpose, focusing on edge control, stride technique, & overall footwork mechanics (with real-time coaching and feedback throughout).
Camp Overview
Skills & Focus
Establish proper alignment, balance, and edge awareness so athletes have a stable base to build from.
Foundation of Skating
Footwork
Develop coordination, edge control, & the ability to move efficiently in tight spaces.
Stride Mechanics
Break down stride efficiency to improve power, control, and overall movement quality.
Athletes will learn how to generate power & improve acceleration through proper positioning and movement patterns.
Speed & Acceleration
Athletes will work on changing direction, controlling edges through turns, and moving efficiently between forward & backward skating.
Transitions & Turns
Apply skating mechanics to situations that translate directly to gameplay, helping athletes carry these skills into real performance.
